The Four Eyed Horsemen Assemble In Phoenix

One of the most consistent streams over the year and change without live shows was the Four Eyed Horsemen. The four that make up this group are MC Frontalot, MC Lars, Mega Ran and Schaffer the Darklord. The once a month streams were easily top of the pile in production. The effort put into the monthly themes, green screen and real backdrops and costumes further reinforced this. They were something that I could rely on while Covid shut down live concerts that always gave me smiles, laughs and times to…

Celebrating Ten Years of Playboy Manbaby

The first time I saw Playboy Manbaby it was stumbling into them on stage at the Long Wongs location near Apache and McClintock. For the first time on the West Coast, it brings together four of the biggest names in Nerdcore with MC Lars, Mega Ran, Mc Frontalot, and Schaffer the Darklord plus one local surprise. That surprise was Teek Hall opening up the…

I will admit at the top that my experience and knowledge of hip hop isn’t that strong. This includes dating back to early nineties hip hop, where the extent is a little of Wu-Tang and having listened to a bunch of Beastie Boys. It was more that I couldn’t relate to it. Enter the Nerdcore genre, where these were lyrics and topics that bring out things I’m familiar with. For an example of how engrained into some of the nerdcore topics I am, my left arm includes two video game…
