Random Joy

There are a few events that put together music in my favorite ways in Phoenix. One unfortunately came to an end in Viva PHX, while others continue to flourish like the Indie 500 at the Trunk Space. All Hail Our New Imperial Overlords

Album release shows bring with them bigger crowds and higher energy. They tend to inspire creativity and more showmanship from the bands. One band that tends to not only go with the bigger room, but it brings out the best of their creativity is Playboy Manbaby. Celebrating Celebration Guns

Not everything I go to sits in the punk rock and ska genres. Through my first years with a driver’s license, I listened to our local Edge 106.3, and later 103.9, station playing alternative rock.
