There are a few events that put together music in my favorite ways in Phoenix. One unfortunately came to an end in Viva PHX, while others continue to flourish like the Indie 500 at the Trunk Space. Masked Intruder is a band that first appeared on my radar as part of the Fat Wreck tour in 2013. On stage each member adorns a color coordinated ski mask and instrument. All the while, they sing songs about love and crime in a Ramones inspired pop punk. Personality radiates from the stage as they are constantly telling jokes and stories about their criminal escapades. This personality extends to Officer Bradford. It was a night of a perfect combination of locals over at 51 West. Sore Eyes opening up with high energy. However, due to illness and down members the Jaunts went acoustic for this set. Then it was back to high energy, high flying as Zero Degrees North and No Lungs closed it out. A fantastic night of local music melting faces. Check out a few of the shots from the night below.

Sometimes it is the small shows that pack the biggest wallop. Where there are only two bands, yet it feels like you watched a bigger concert. There were slightly contrasting energy of the music performed, but both Narrow Head and Fucked Up made it a show to remember. Our openers were guys from Texas called Narrow Head.
