Artist Spotlight: Potty Mouth

In my latest artist spotlight, it is a case for why you show up early for every band. I first saw Potty Mouth as part of the tour with Skating Polly. Skating Polly was a band I was recommended prior, but had not had a chance to watch live before. Though before those guys played there was this band called Potty Mouth. They are an all-girl four piece live, and three piece otherwise, that brought an enthusiasm to the stage. They played a pop punk brand of music with fantastic…

Come For A Pair of Bands, Get a Pair More

There are musicians from the first song you know that you just want to keep listening to after. Their tour mates for it were the excellent Prince Daddy and the Hyena plus our local Sundressed tasked with…

The last song of a Warped Tour was played on Sunday, in West Palm Beach and with Pennywise performing it. Huge props to Kevin Lyman, who put on the tour for 24 years. He managed to not only maintain a successful tour for over two decades, but evolve it to survive the entire period. It started as a punk dominated festival in its first decade. Then to the vein of a lot of vocal punks, found the blossoming Emo and Hardcore scenes as they were coming up in the 2000’s…

Good Reasons To Be In Scottsdale

I try not to be late to a show. Unfortunately, it sometimes happens. On the bright side I was able to catch two bands I enjoy. The first band I caught at the New Year’s Eve show in Gilbert for the first time. Our other was one of the first I was watching a few years ago when I started doing what got me the Every Show Joe nickname. The site of this awesome music was the Wasted Grain, my first visit to the old Martini Ranch location. That first…
