The Monday Night Killer Trio

This show has been on my most anticipated list since I first heard Aimee Interrupter announce it at Warped Tour. How could a line up with both Bad Cop/Bad Cop and the Interrupters ever disappoint? It cannot, did not, and got even better with Bowcat added on top.

If you’re wondering what Bowcat is, probably best to look up the band on its Bandcamp or Facebook page. A Google search may return other not friendly to a work environment results. This band since I started seeing them has just been improving each and every time. They are adding more songs to their sets, along with cool covers like tonight the slow Ska cover of the Transplant’s “Diamonds and Guns.” They are becoming one of the best bands to catch in the valley play in the valley, and in our Ska scene.

This was followed up with the awesome gals in Bad Cop/Bad Cop. They always play with energy, and they are constantly moving around the stage. They love what they do on stage, and you can tell with every song’s performance and between song conversations. Stacey enjoyed having the crowd of young kids on her side of the stage through the set. She made their night by giving out the set lists and their guitar pics to them at the end of their set.

Finally we came to the whip cream on the already awesome ice cream sundae, Interrupters. They went on to play for a good hour. It was filled with a mix of old song and new, and a great request section with Kevin playing about ten seconds of requests that are other band’s songs. He had some amazing guitar skills no matter whose music he is playing on display tonight. The entire band is all over the stage, usually coming right up front to interact with everyone up there or with a hand up. They even did a great cover of Op Ivy’s “Sound System” to start off their encore. The end of the Interrupter’s set was with some of Bowcat and Bad Cop/Bad Cop joining them on stage for “Family.” This was a great night, with some great friends and musicians. Onto two more work days of this week!
